I have a 292 in a 62 unibody I am having trouble with the lower tension arm not lining up with lower alt. Mount. I have tried mounting to alt. and seeing where it lands on timing cover and I have tried mounting it on timing cover ,I'm off apx 1/2 inch . Can anyone see what I'm missing thanks

It looks like you're trying to put the bracket on the front of the alternator, rather than the back and that will provide about 1/2" difference.

So I have tried front and back off lower mount,it seems to be off the same just opposite . The pic in the directions is to dark to see. I probably could shim it out with stack of washers but not if I'm not mounted where designed. The tensioner mounts to front engine mount plate same hole generator was is that correct. Thanks

Update to anyone that may have similar issue. I talked to mummert and he said some set ups just need shims . So I had it installed correctly just needed stack of ss.washers. Works and looks great. Thanks to c-crany for your reply

glad you got it fixed, I bought one for my 55 272 fairlane and it fit like a glove, I have had a lot of people on shows ask me where I got my bracket, It really looks like a factory assembly.
