Now that my '57 292 has been rebuilt (bored .040) and the original 2 barrel Holley has been replaced by a 4 barrel Autolite on a B manifold, I need to figure out what to do with the original dizzy (FEH 12127). Should I rebuild it or change it out with a later model?  I'd like to keep it as original as possible. I know the '57 and '58 used a ball bearing breaker plate and that in '59 they went to a hinged plate. Is there any advantage to these later versions?  Does the carburetor change make any difference?

'57 or newer is what you want with that carb, so the original '57 unit will be fine.  You will need to have yours rebuilt.  Do not trade it in for a rebuilt unit.  Actually have yours rebuilt, if it is originality you are after.  If you trade it in, you may not get the exact same back.
