Have any of you tried, used, or are using these Air Cleaners on the Holly 4000 tea-pot 4bbl carbs. on your y-blocks?  I am interested in using them on my 312  2x4 build. I have an Edelbrock 257 intake and a pair of 56 bird carbs, and a pair of 56 Lincoln carbs. I have not made a decision as to which set of carbs to use. I will
probably experiment with both.  anyway I am looking for some feed back on the air cleaners, as how they fit, are they to restrictive? etc.  any help or information would be appreciated. I like the "D" shape of these air cleaners. any air cleaners I use will have to be able to clear the radiator support rods on my hoodless and fenderless  chopped and channeled coupe.   Thanks for any help anyone can provide.-------Jim          http://www.spotlitekustomaccessories.com/store/p7/V8_Dual_Quad_Air_Cleaner.html

It’s hard to tell from the picture within the link of any dimensions on the air cleaners.

Here’s a picture of a pair of older model dual quad air cleaners that looks similar to the Spotlite air cleaners and these are on a ECG-D dual quad manifold.

Jim, based on Ted Eaton's info, if you are using the Edelbrock 257 manifold, the max dia. for a round air cleaner would be about 7".  This one on EBAY should work if you double stack the paper filters or put in a spacer.

I'm using 9424-D '57 intake with two 500 Edelbrock carbs.  No name air cleaners are 6.5-inches in diameter and 2-inches high.  They seem to fit well and i've seen them on epay several times.  With a higher filter I think they would work on the Holley 4000.http://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/c1748298-193b-4fb8-81b2-d18c.jpg

The Spotlite dual quad air cleaners listed for the Teapots when butted together have air cleaner hole centers that are 7 1/8” apart.  Based on that, they will fit any of the ‘old school’ cast dual quad intakes out there including the Edelbrock #257.

yalincoln.  Hmmm... Help me understand what I'm looking at.  I LIKE the height of the air filter element.  Is it oval in shape?  Is the filter base Masonite?  What are the dimensions of the air filter element?  Is there a manufacturer's number?  Is the top housing a commercial unit?  If so, who is the manufacturer?

THANKS for any info. on what you have pictured.  Appreciated!

the filter is a K&N, I don't remember the # it's my friends. the top is a old cal custom but we've seen a few new ones at the ford swap meets. I have one on my 2x4 setup with 2 2in tall napa gold 6013 filters, 14.645" x 7.944" oval. the base is cardboard but I'm making one out of 1/4" aluminum plate. I've got a top and bottom made out of 1/4" plastic but not a good idea if you have a fire! i'll get a couple of pics.

hi! I just checked the K&N site! they have the custom 66 series, 15" X 8 1/4" x 3" 0r 15" x 8 1/4" X 5". they are for single carb but you could adapt one with a homemade base!
