Looking for a 3 speed Hurst Shifter, either the old Syncro or a Mastershift. Finally found brackets to adapt the overdrive solenoid on my R 10.
Send a PM or respond to this posting
Thanks

Daniel.
Since nothing's turning up, you might also try looking for a Hurst "Mystery Shifter". (It's a mystery we can make one so affordable).
I had one years ago, and stumbled across a couple of them looking for another item. If it's NOS, the handle could be cut to length. They didn't have the adjustable stops the Syncro Loks had, but you probably aren't going to beating on a R-10 that hard anyway.

Thanks Miker,
I found a fell a few states away that has a syncro loc but it is hard to tell what shape it is in. It comes with the bracketry, rods, shifter (I guess the lever is welded to it, not bolted?) and only $40. How bad can it be? My only issue is that the shift lever is not able to unbolt from the shifting mechanism itself. I kind of think I might have to toy with the different levers for the bench seat?

Daniel, there is a complete Hurst Mystery shifter set up on ebay right now. Look for the seller 4ever4d. I was looking for one for my t85 od but the only thing I found was for the t86 od.

That's a newer model than I had. Mine used a ferrule sort of fitting to mount the shift handle, so you could cut it to length. That one is missing the brackets, a bit rusty, I think if you look, you can do better.
I was always worried it would turn, but it never did. Used it in a 1959 Thunderbird, pulled the auto, and put a T-86 O/D in it. The 352 was so tired, and my recaps so hard, I never broke the trans. Don't even ask how I did the clutch linkage. Back in 1966.
Big window, when I did the T-85 in the 55 bird, late 1967, I used a SyncroLok. The heavier first gear in a T-85 would blow by the shifter on a hard shift. The SyncroLok stops prevented that, IIRC. Not the end stops, but something when you changed gates from R-1 to 2-3. It's been a long time.
Oops, beat me to the post.
