I doubt my Lincoln Y Block entry will be in the money, but maybe I will get a few votes for best dressed.. I decided to do it as a 1957 Turnpike Cruiser engine.
Ted and I will be in Lima Oh next Thursday to compete for a $12,000 first place prize and to put Y blocks (both versions) on the front row. We have 3 out of 6 entries.
Mine has over 100 dyno pulls on it and refuses to make any better score, Basically it is telling me I am giving you everything I have... You can have more horsepower or more torque but not both.

Nice. Would you explain that intake set up for us? What carb will you use?

Go for it Royce. At least you will have one of the prettiest engines there. Chuck

As far as the intake, It is a scrub Performer RPM.. By adding spacer plates the Lincoln ports line up pretty good with the scrub port.
I am using a Holley 750 Hp Ultra I Tested carbs from 650 to 950 and settled on this one

Thanks for all the kind words of encouragement.. I am thinking it will be Y Blocks 1,2, and 3.. It will be a fun event, Bob Martin will be covering it so there should be plenty of pictures and articles in YBM this winter.

Saw a post somewhere on facebook that someone with a poly who is entering made well over 500hp in his test! may be some stiff competition!

Polys have always been the Wild card.. They will have to make a LOT more than 500 hp to beat Ted and Jon.. Mine made over 500 but I lost too much low end torque.. Had to dial it back with a dual plane manifold to improve the score. I suspect the poly guys borrowed heavily from the LA Chrysler parts bin..

Here’s the link giving some information on the SAM poly entry. While no specific HP or TQ numbers are given, there are enough clues in the text indicating that the engine is crowding the 600 HP mark. http://www.enginelabs.com/news/video-sam-engine-masters-challenge-chrysler-poly-402ci-on-the-dyno/

They say torque and hp near 1.5 / ci (402ci). That's with factory heads. That's impressive.

Yikes.. There goes my 3rd place aspirations.. Those SAM guys know how to build engines.. They always finish well
