What are you guys with bias plys running? I am on the hunt for a bias tire for my wagon. Not interested in a radial as I want the vintage look and feel. I have been looking at the Firestone Deluxe Champion in 670.15 and BF Goodrich Silvertown in the same size. Anyone use either of these on there ride or have any recommendations?

Vintage feel - the car going all over the road? Nothing like radials if your going to do any traveling.

I dont necessarily agree with that statement that bias ply tires will make your car drive like shit. I do think that if your car has a problem like worn suspension that the bias are less forgiving and yes they may make you work a little harder behind the wheel and I'm OK with that. I bought a classic car for the experience and styling. If I wanted a car that practically drives itself then I would have bought a new one.

I have Firestones on my 35 pickup and I don't have a problem with them, I can drive anywhere with one hand on the wheel. I think the main thing is going to be how you setup the suspension - geometry and alignment .

I'm running a set of Firestone Wide Ovals (F70-15) from Coker on my Galaxie. I'm on the second set in fact, and I don't want a radial even if it's for free. I don't want one even if they pay me to use it. The Wide ovals make the car to handle great, and are 10000000000X better looking than radials.
I drive my Galaxie a lot, and my first set lasted 45.000 Kms.

We had two sets of Koker wide whites bias on our '50 Ford, ran 'em down to almost nothing, put on almost a hundred grand in the process and they worked well. I'm sure the name brand tires will work just fine, they may not ride quite as nice or handle as well but bias is OK and works.

Big window; 670-15s were of course the standard minimum size for those cars. If you want a bit more rubber on the ground & a slightly fatter look, check to see if they offer 710-15s..

Thanks Paul. I have thought of going to the 710's but I am putting in Aerostar coils and 2" lowering blocks in the rear. I wasn't sure if the added width and height would cause fitment problems.
