Decided to go numbers correct on engine so I am looking for either a 292 or 312 engine block ECZ 6015-C Casting Number with casting date starting with 6B (1956, December). Must be tested crack free, unsleeved and rebuildable. Thanks, Randy

Unfortunately, our Forum email system is not working, Randy. I wrote you some months ago about your '57 restoration project and think you would have replied If you had received it.
Blocks are expensive to ship. Where are you located?

Sorry I didn't get your email. I am near Pittsburgh, PA, would be willing to drive some to get the right block.

You're not that far from me geographically, Randy.
Let me check the 'C' block I've got for date code AND more significantly, I'm planning a trip just a couple of hours South off Rte 81 to see a fellow who has an unbelievable collection of '50s Ford parts vehicles all housed in two of the three levels of one of the multiple old barns he's got. In addition to whole vehicles, he has numerous loose y-block engine heads and blocks. He apparently raced y-blocks at an earlier time. He's not a kid, doesn't do the Internet, and is currently active in resurrecting a Northeast ravaged '56 'Bird.
It will likely be over a week before I'm able to connect with him. He may be down at Carlisle this week...

Charlie, Thanks let me know what you come up with. I am heading over to Carlisle today looking for parts, seems like the list of what is needed never gets shorter.

I connected with the gentleman I previously mentioned South of Syracuse, Randy. It was a bit of a 'getting-to-know-you' session that consumed the middle of the day with my having to be home for a meeting in the evening.
I'm blown away by what I saw in the one barn on two floors in the way of complete cars in addition to removed engine blocks, transmissions, and cylinder heads from other carcasses that are somewhere else. Although all inside from the weather, looking through this stuff is no picnic because it is scattered and in rows without isles.
I'm writing to encourage you, but I've got serious work ahead to dig through what he's got to locate a block with the date code you need. As I finished up with him yesterday afternoon, he indicated that there are more engine blocks in two other barns. Everything I saw yesterday was Ford, a couple of flatheads, but a preponderance of '56 and '57 y-blocks. Virtually all of the cylinder head 'take-offs' were ECZ-G. While I only saw two '58 Ford bodies inside, I saw at least 5 engines in various cars and trucks inside the barn with 113 heads on them. He likes 113s!
I wish I could give you a time line on this, but I'm clueless as I effort to get some other things squared away following my dad's passing last September.
