New to this site. Normally a Y-block freak, and am putting a dual quad Y-Block in my 34 Ford pu,but I am also a inline 6 guy.

Came to this site today following links to FOM bellhousings and decided to register and see if any of you know anything about FOM's behind 1951 Ford 226 flathead 6's?  Yup,I bought an original 51 Ford business coupe with the original flat 6 in it (not by accident, either. I specifically looked for one with a flat 6), and am looking into the possibility of coverting it over to a FOM in the future since the docs keep wanting to amputate my left leg.
Does any know of any differences between the flat V-8 FOM and the flat 6 FOM?
Does the flat 6 FOM use the same bellhousing as the flat 6 that has a standard transmission?
What about the torque converters? Are they the same?
Finally, does anybody have any or all of this for sale?

Welcome to the site.  My first car was a ’51 Ford with the six and I have fond memories of that one.  I don’t recall ever seeing an automatic transmission behind the 226 engines so those were rare even when the cars were new.  While I still have a complete ’50 with the six in one of the sheds, it is a standard trans so no help there.  I do have a couple of contacts that still tinker with those engines and will inquire about the automatic transmissions.  I will post if I find out something positive.
