I've got a 6-blade fan that "supposedly" came off a '56 Ford with 312 Y-block and factory a/c.  It got me to wondering:  in '56 did Y-block cars with factory a/c come with a 6-blade fan, and did the same car without a/c come with a 5- or 4-blade fan?  Thanks, Ron

Non air had 4 blade fan. The only factory air  car that I have ever seen belonged to my cousin back in the early '60's and I have no idea what kind of fan it had. Early '60's Fords had a 5 or 6 blade clutch fan. Had one on my T-Bird back in the day but it disappeared a long time ago.

55 and 56 A/C were dealer installed, there were 2 suppliers of the kits to dealers, one supplier used 5 blade fans the other 6 blade.
