the chrome pieces that go from the window inside, over the roof to the other window is pitted and in need of rechroming.has anyone had this done and how much? my car sat outside with the windows up for many years and the chrome over the top that was exposed is in great shape, but the inside is another story.been looking on ebay for better ones but so far no luck.its interesting that the usual rust spots under the headlights, front crossmember, bottom of front fenders are all fine but the floorboards where the previous owner left parts like gens & starters and the roof chrome are rusty.funny how you start one project and you start seeing more that needs to be done!

The chrome guys I deal with in Harrisburg Pa have to quote pitted pieces on an individual basis due to the work involved.   Some pieces require much more work than others.

Does anyone know how to get a hold of Randy Conner out of Michigan or Wisconsin?. He used to contribute to Y-Block Magazine in the past. I believe he partly dismantled a Crown Vic some time ago. Might have those parts maybe?

would be nice just to get the pieces instead of rechroming they have the chrome peeling off these and probably be pretty expensive, though I've never had anything rechromed before.thanks

Aren't those pieces stainless? The outside trim is. If so you can possibly save it with sanding and polishing. Cheaper than chrome and lasts. Chuck

'I'm confused[doesn't take much] the inside pieces are rusty and pitted, they are flaking shiny pieces off the surface so I was assuming that was the chrome coming off.I have plenty of time to figure it out before its on the road.working on rusted floors now, hope I can at least have floor and body done this summer.thanks

Outside tiara is stainless, inside pieces are chrome plate. The two corner pieces on each side of rear seat backs are plated pot metal.  They break easy and are not being reproduced as far as I know.
