Wanted to introduce myself and say hello. I've stalked this site enough (google searches) gathering info and insight I figured I'd just go ahead and join. There definitely seems to be a lot of knowledge here.

My real name (not bglide73) is Brian Arcand and I live in central Indiana. I bought my first Y-block ('56-'57 312") a while back and plan to put this into my '30 5 window that I picked up over the summer. I've been much too busy (work) to make much progress on the build but this car has been a dream of mine for a long time so I guess I can take my time. I've waited this long!

I'll post pictures and more info ect. when I have more time.

Thanks for looking!

Welcome aboard! Always glad to see new members with interesting projects. The Y-Block Model A thing has been done by a number of our members so I'm sure you will get a lot of advice and information on how to accomplish it. Look forward to pictures of the job. Chuck

Welcome - Always liked Model A's.  My first hot rod was a A roadster with a Boss 302 in it.

Brian, Welcome. I live near Elkhart, and Hoosier Hurricane is near Muncie.

Yes, welcome Brian Arcand. Re what Seppo mentioned concerning our last name. Most Arcand's are distantly related thru the only known person of our name,  who came from France to Quebec in about 1685.. But, that story isn't appropriate for this forum, so I'll leave it at that..

C'mon Paul, everyone has skeletons in the closet...  Whistling

Half of Australia is descended from convicts...

Oh, and welcome Brian from me too.

Brian.  Welcome to the site.  Your '30 sounds like a great place to put a Y.  There are several on the site that have put the Y in the older Fords so be sure to post pictures and ask questions as they come up.

Welcome Brian!
You are now infected with the Y-Block Fever like the rest of us.  Good luck with your project. Sounds like a Fast one to me.

Welcome. A 312 in an A will be slick. Personally always a Flathead in an A was the ideal though. Have had Y Blocks since 1963. There is no better time to build one than now. Better parts out there now than there ever were. A plus is that a basically stock 312 in an A would be a lot of fun. A loaded one would be just that much more fun!

Doe's that mean the other half descended from Aboriginals? That could explain a lot! Smile Chuck

Mostly Italians ,Greeks, Poms, VietNamese, etc, etc,
lately Indians, Chinese and Africans...
Only about 2.5% of the population is Aboriginal.

Slick: Just for the record, early Quebec settlement, unlike Australia, wasn't for convicts...
