Greetings to all: It's been a very long time since I posted on this excellent site. I've been always on the side lines though. When I figure out picture posting I'll post some of my 64 F100 nearly finished four year restoration. However, I found this "rat rod" under Ford y block Craigslist in my local state and thought this site would enjoy seeing this. Don't judge until you read the whole description. http://flint.craigslist.org/cto/4625599558.html

Your 64 F100 I would love to see! but not too much on Rat Rods, just not my thing. That's ok though to each his own. What is interesting is the torque and horsepower numbers... if all of the specs are correct for that motor, there is a WHOLE LOT MORE HP in that engine that would be easy to get out of it provided all of the parts have been correctly assembled. 160 hp is looooowww for that engine.... would like to know compression numbers. I know the owner says the engine was not built for horsepower but with the a .500 lift cam and some of those other parts I am not quite sure why he was going through all of that trouble to end up with hp numbers close to stock??? Interesting find however - thanks for the post.

I agree, Dan. Also for an engine built for torque, I don't find the torque number to be very impressive. The engine also has 2 camshafts?? I think the numbers are so low due to the mismatched parts. Presumably low compression (87 octane) and a god sized cam don't go together well.

Greetings to all: I agree, the numbers just don't add up but I know nothing of this vehicle and rat rods are not my thing either. Just thought folks may find it rather interesting. I also need to work on posting some pics of my 64 F100 as it has been restored to stock except for a few upgrades that are period correct. Like an instrument assembly I salvaged and restored from a big T950 with no idiot lights, has a mechanical tach, and a vacuum gauge. The whole thing fit and looks correct. Take care, JEFF...........
