Hi I'm in a jam. I bought a 1960 f100 and the transmission blew the first trip out. I thought I had a 292 but come to find out after researching I've got a 272 out of a car I believe I am having a hard time finding a new transmission. I'm adding pics of the one I have it is a side loader 3 speed manual with the long tail shaft does anyone have one of these or know what it is out of. thanks a ton guys Brandonhttp://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/5eb56d29-0355-4ba7-ad36-73fd.jpg[/img [img]http://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/ede2e710-e67e-442c-a4ad-aac4.jpg">]

I have a side loader 3 speed that came out of a 64 F-100 with a 292. I didn't look at the numbers on it, but suspect it would fit your truck as well. I live near Olympia/Tacoma, WA. If you're anywhere close by I could probably make you a good deal on it. I bought it for the engine but did drive the truck a few miles and through all gears----it worked fine and sounded good. I doubt those transmissions are that hard to find, and can't imagine it would be worth paying for shipment. Let me know.....

I'm from ny I've been trying to find this trans for a while now no one seems to have the long tailshaft with the larger diameter input shaft. I had one shipped all the way from texas and it ended up being wrong the input shaft was way to small. I figured it would be easy to just put my old input shaft in the new trans but the gears ended up being different to so I'm still on the hunt for this trans and I still am not sure what it is out of but thanks for the reply

If you change the clutch disc to the smaller dia and the pilot bushing the trans you got should work. I am up in Maine and should have all the parts you need and probably a trans for you, I'll look.

That would be awsome if you had the parts to do that. The input shaft on my new trans is 1 inch shorter then the one that was originally in the truck. If I measure from the tip of the input shaft to the transmission housing it's an inch shorter Idk if that makes a difference or not
