Unfortunately I have to go work in Aussieland for a month, will be in the middle of Queensland but scheduled to stop in Brisbane for a few days on my departure the first of June to bug Lon and Lynn and the other Aussies who come to Columbus!

Billy.  It's been awhile since I've been to Australia but I always look forward to going back.  If you're going to visit Lon and Lynn, then I know it's going to be a great visit.

It has been great in the past when I stopped in, when the hotel desk calls me up and says my limo is waiting and there is an imaculate 56 vicky sitting outside and a couple other rods!

Just received a call from Lon and he wants me to hang out an extra week and go to the Cooly Rocks On car show and music festival with him.
Google "Cooly Rocks On" sounds like the event of the year!

Hey Billy:

I see where Snowcone purchased a '64 T-Bird stateside.  Maybe you could make a few extra bucks by driving it down to him.  He He!  When you see Lon, ask him about the waitress in Missouri and the drive from Australia.  Funny story.

Hopefully Bill can come on vacation with us for a week . Lynne is going to pick Bill up from the airport when he arrives  from North Queensland & bring him home for a few days .We have booked a 2 bedroom  apartment right in the middle of Coolangatta,6 stories up. Great views . Cooly  Rocks On is the biggest Rock n Roll festival in Australia  .Dancers  from every state & some great Rock a Billy bands .Even a few from USA. Cooly is Australias answer to Viva Las Vegas .Bill may even be ,blued  , screwed & tattooed while he's  here ???? Maybe not tattooed ??

Regards Lon

PS   .Funny  thing is ,we were the first Y Blockers Bill ever met .Half way around the other side of the world ??

Back in 1969 I spent a few months near Surfer Paradise (living in a tent at Mermaid Beach).  I went down to Coolangatta most evenings.  There was a big dance hall there. When I got back to Canada I met an Aussie grader operator on a construction site (named Boomer - what else!).  He called me the Coolangatta Kid.  A great time was had by all, even though because of some bizarre rule at the time the place shut down at 11:00 pm.

My daughter and a friend spent 12 months in British Columbia 10 years ago had the use of a 1974 Ford LTD. It was BIG car which they affectionately called the Boat. On one of their driving adventures to Banff they picked up a French tourist and during the ride mentioned theIr name for their ride and that they were from Australia. He then said did you drive this "boat" all the way from Australia?
They laughed their heads off and let him believe they did.
It must be a pretty common question for Aussies abroad.
