Are the rockers mixed on the shafts or is it a right and left set with different rockers? Some folks have changed half the rockers on the same banks to effect the cam. Not sure what was done but either the intake or exhaust rockers were switched out. Chuck

I recall Ted saying something about this a while back. I did a quick search but could not find it.

Games like high ratio intake and low ratio exhaust can help to trade some loss of top-end HP for a gain in low-end torque. Off the shelf, John's high ratio ass'y came all high ratio. If you wanted custom, I imagine he'd do that too.

The Falcon 144 & 170 six cylinder engines used the same rockers as the y block.

Interesting, if that's true. I wonder if any Ford dealers might still have those parts? Otherwise it would require finding two salvage engines to get a full 8 cyl set. And what ratio are they?

Same as in 1.54 or 1.43?What about FE rockers? Is the shaft and valve tip in similar geometries?

Same as in 1.54 or 1.43? What about FE rockers? Is the shaft and valve tip in similar geometries? The FE rockers fit a larger diameter shaft. The rocker ratio for adjustable FE units is also 1.76:1. I suspect the length is also different from the Y rockers but because of the shaft diameter and mounting irregularities, I’ve made no attempts to use FE rockers on a Y . Ted.

if falcons have the same arms they would be pretty easy to find! i wonder if anyone has one laying around that they can check?
